MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. instructed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to expedite the completion of the Cavite Industrial Area – Flood Risk Management Project (CIA-FRMP). In his speech during an assistance distribution event in Cavite on Thursday, Marcos also ordered the agency to make sure that the project can withstand recurring flooding. The original timeline of the CIA-FRMP was from October 2019 to April 2024, but it was moved from April 2025 until September 2029.
